A Time for Thanks

swendler1

Lent is the time of reflection, spiritual growth, and a time to discover anew the presence of Christ in our lives.  No Alleluias until Easter!  But as I reflect my heart continues to turn to gratitude.  How can I travel these weeks without thanksgiving?  The more I reflect I accept, without Christ’s death on the cross I am nothing and cannot do anything.  I am grateful and full of thanks to God for sending His son to die for me and wipe away ALL my sin.

My gratitude also extends to my church, “the whole company of true believers gathered about the word and the sacraments”.  (Guess what my confirmation question was ?)  That means everyone at CtK who helps in any way,….serves on council, makes coffee, types, answers the phone, leads Bible Study, plays music, teaches and leads our youth,…etc.,etc. Thank you,Thank you!!! (This includes you too Pastor Nate)

The famous mystic and monk Meister Eckhart said, “If the only prayer you said your whole life was ‘thank you’ that would suffice.  Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come with him into the presence of God the Father to give him your thanks.”

With a grateful heart, on behalf of the Generosity Team, Sue Kerzisnik
