The youth have been doing a coin war for the last month, and we have the final count and result. First, I am so incredibly proud of our youth. They hand counted every penny and coin together at Youth Group last week and truly worked together. We were only around $5 off in hand counting, which is pretty good with hundreds of coins! Second, I am incredibly proud that even in the spirit of "competition", our teams decided to come together and share the reward of choosing my hair cut and color for graduation.
The winning team was The Nerd Herd, Pretty Pickles a close second! The real winner of this coin war was Harbor House and the congregation who collectively donated $731.30 to Harbor House for domestic violence victims. The Youth are incredibly grateful for the abundance of time and energy donated to a cause that is important to the group. What did the group choose for my hair cut and color? (See attachment for photo) Our initial goal of $500.00 was surpassed and we are so grateful to each and every one of you for making that happen. They also got to see some pretty cool coins they don't usually get to see!
God is indeed good, and we are so excited to give the check to Harbor House and help give new beginnings to those who truly need it. God's blessings upon you, and our thanksgiving to all of you who helped us make a difference and spread God's beautiful light and gospel.
