This is the Third Sunday in Advent - We will be lighting the candle of Joy. Join us this Sunday our Sunday School Children will be presenting their Christmas Program. We will meet in person and on FB at 9:15am. All are welcome!

The Miracles of Christmas

The congregation is invited to the Miracle of Christmas movie by Sight-Sound.com from Branson, Mo. during the Doughnut Whole Gang/No Basement Church Ladies combined meeting Saturday, Dec. 21st from 8 - 10:30 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. Merry Christmas!

Out of the 462 sponsorship cards that were sent out, we have received 95 back. The return rate is 21%. If anyone needs a new sponsorship card, please reach out to Tina

Advent goodies greetings!
Thanks to the Knitwits for serving at Fellowship time as the Crumb Crew on 12/8.  Thanks again to Sue W for providing the Thrivent Action Team funds for the Advent Goodies, and Tina K for scheduling and the group signage.  Next Sunday, December 15th the Crafty Friends will be serving using Thrivent Action Team funds from Judy R to purchase the delicious Advent treats.  The upcoming Sunday Crumb Crews are The Doughnut Whole Gang on 12/22, Wholey Rollers on 12/29, Prayer Partners on 1/4.  We currently have the following Sundays available for January; the 12th, 19th, and 26th.  The Flower Girls, Choir Boys, and RIC have said they are willing and are determining when they can serve.  If anyone has Thrivent Action Team Dollars available that they would like to use for fellowship please let us know. High School Youth Group

Will meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 7:45-8:30 and we encourage our high school students to join in when they can. We know that life gets busy, but sometimes it’s nice to just sit back, relax, be in community with one another, and also have some fun. We are always looking for adult mentors to join us. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Sommer Loar at sloar@christ-the-king.org

 Starting in January, High School Youth Group will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays each month.

Inescapable Love

God’s love is as much a part of us as the air that we breathe and cells that make up our bodies. The Bible says that NOTHING has the power to separate us from God’s love. This year, the synod youth gathering will explore ways we can know, share, and experience the love God has for us in Christ Jesus. 

Keynote Speaker

Pastor Jenn Pockat, Associate to the Bishop in our synod, will share her faith story with us and lead us in interactive bible study, play, and prayer as we explore the theme. Pastor Jenn grew up going to Sunday School every week with her family - in fact, there’s a sticker chart somewhere that proves it. It wasn’t until finding the Lutheran Church in middle school that she started to experience God’s love in a different way - through other people who taught her about grace for the first time and a worship experience that involved her. Pastor Jenn lives on a little farm in Caroline, Wisconsin with her husband Don and their cats. When she’s not working, she’s playing Nintendo or working in her garden. 

| 50 for $50 | ELCA World Hunger

December felt so far away when the Synod Assembly passed a resolution to focus our generosity on ELCA World Hunger. This #givingtuesday, let's focus on sharing #50for50. Our goal is 50 gifts of $50 dollars to raise $2500 by #givingtuesday for hunger relief. Would you consider sharing any amount today for hunger relief? Give online or by mail designating, “Giving Tuesday” (PO Box 655 Appleton, WI 54912).

 WHEREAS more than 820 million people - approximately 11% of people in our world today – are hungry, and WHEREAS ELCA World Hunger is uniquely positioned to reach communities in need. From health clinics to microloans, water wells to animal husbandry, community meals to advocacy, your gifts to ELCA World Hunger make it possible for the ELCA to respond, supporting sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty, and WHEREAS as members of the ELCA, we are called to respond. We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work, working with and through our congregations in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with Lutheran churches overseas and other partners, and WHEREAS we act as a coordinated network of congregations and individuals to support HCA World Hunger in the U.S. and worldwide,

 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,  

that the East Central Synod of Wisconsin will encourage our synod members to participate in celebrating 50 years of ELCA World Hunger by joining thousands of ELCA members together to educate, donate, and serve, and

 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,  

that the East Central Synod of Wisconsin will participate through either 50 congregations or 50 individuals who will commit to giving at least $50 to ELCA World Hunger.

Please when making donations of goods, check the expiration dates. The food pantry will not take expired food.

Thank You to all who are bringing in their bags, paper and plastic. And egg cartons. We will continue accepting donations (put in the shopping cart in the narthex).

If you have can goods or other items to donate, please drop off at your local food pantry. We are not collecting any items at this time.
